About

Finca El Rey

Finca el Rey from Veracruz, Mexico has a unique history. It was founded in 1954 by Italian immigrants who brought their expertise in coffee growing and roasting to this part of Mexico. Today, Finca el Rey is still family-owned and operated by Reynaldo Bernardi the 3rd generation grower and roaster and is known for producing some of the finest coffee beans in the world.

Our coffee blend combines Caturra, Typica, and Bourbon Arabica beans, creating a harmonious flavor. The Caturra beans bring a bright acidity with fruity and citrus notes, while the Typica beans add a smooth touch of milk chocolate and caramel. The Bourbon beans provide richness and depth with chocolate and nutty undertones, resulting in a balanced and well-rounded profile.

Growing coffee beans between 1200-1800 meters above sea level (MASL) offers numerous benefits. It enhances the flavor profile, increases acidity, and develops distinct aromas. The extended maturation period at higher altitudes results in greater sweetness and complexity. Moreover, coffee grown within this range has the potential to be classified as specialty coffee, known for its exceptional quality.
